This is going to be a great year for us down at Rocombe Retreat. Our space has really bedded in well, and this season is promising to be the greatest so far. We are aiming to continue to strengthen our reputation as the best ‘secret’ spot for Glamping Devon Style!

We want to also take this opportunity to thank our loyal regulars (and newbies) that come to stay over and over again – and recommend us to their friends, surely the best way to get new guests 🙂

So onto the news. Despite the winter really being against us (#beastfromtheeast anybody?!) Business went on as usual. Our brand new, custom for us, Safari Tent took the whole #snowmageddon2018 situation in its stride!

Inside the Gypsy Caravan looked like a snug place to spend the night when the snow came (as long as you are under 6ft tall that is!)

Snow reports aside (look out for a separate post in a few weeks)  we are moving swiftly down the road to opening time. The canvas for the yurts have been cleaned and reproofed (in the worlds biggest washing machine from what we can make out!)

Our biggest online hurdle is being tackled this year as well. After our site rebuild we are very aware that our photographs don’t do justice to our site. To that end we have a brilliant photographer on standby, so once we get everything back up and shipshape you will be able to see the Site in all its beauty!

The pizza oven weathered the winter perfectly, and we had no damage to yurt platforms (although a few trees down elsewhere on the farm)

Over the following couple of weeks we will be reassembling the space in its entirety, and posting pictures of the process on our twitter. One of our aims is to provide a better selection of local produce for our glampers to sample, with local bacon, bread and of course our own eggs – but for now, lets just say see you soon for some Glamping Devon Style…
