Springfields comprises 85 acres of farmland populated with pedigree south Devon beef cattle. Farm camping is a fairly new venture for us, compared to the decades of farming history!
For the past 15 years no pesticides or artificial fertilisers have been used. The farm is participating in the Countryside stewardship scheme ensuring that hedgerows are laid in a traditional manner and wildlife is encouraged and protected.
Grassland is managed to create habitat for insects that birds feed on. A small acreage of spring barley is grown with the stubble left overwinter as feed for the locally found rare Cirl bunting.
We have our own chickens and sometimes pigs , eggs and bacon can be bought from the communal kitchen area *subject to availability.
